Oliver Chong > 2008.04.29 - Day 17 :

Several people asked about my lightbox early on and yesterday I got a few requests for a picture from some people outside of Smugmug so I decided it was time to post a shot. It is essentially identical to the design shown on DIYPhotography and Strobist. I use cromolux design paper as my backdrop, but anything that isn't too flimsy should work fine.

Of course normally the flash is placed closer to the box (I usually place it to the side), but I wanted this to have some artistic merit.

Tools of the trade. While I still had Jeremy's camera for a final night, I figured I would take a picture of my gear. This is my Rebel XT (350D) with the 85mm f/1.8 mounted. This shot is set up with the camera in my light box and lit with the flash set left of the subject angled upwards at max power.

*Yes, the date is still wrong on the D70 which took this picture.
Oliver Chong > 2008.04.15 - Day 3 :

I am a huge fan of the light box and the look it produces. I actually started off with a different idea using strawberries and blueberries, but it will have to wait for another day after some more thought. I guess the real question here is, who's following who?
Oliver Chong > 2008.04.13 - Day 1 :

The first photo in my attempt to take at least one keeper everyday for a year. In this shot I loved the shape of the flowers and how they are nearly identical twins. They also fit in nicely with the season as it only has just started getting warm enough for spring flowers in MA.

*edit* I mistakenly stated this photo was taken on the 14th, but it was actually the 13th. My EXIF is wrong because the camera was still set to Japan Standard Time.
