Oliver Chong > 2008.12.17 - Day ? : We went out for lunch today to celebrate the career of Alan our teammate who is retiring in just a few short days. I think you know who this guy is... It's Jeremy! You can see a nice group photo in his daily photo. If you didn't catch from earlier dailies, we are coworkers. It was much darker in the restaurant than I expected. So much so that the AF on the 350D was pretty much unable to cope even while using the 50mm f/1.8. I could have gone to ISO 1600, but the 350D shows a lot of noise at that point.
Oliver Chong > 2008.12.16 - Day ? : We are be moving in just over a week to a new apartment so we have been trying to get everything packed early.
Oliver Chong > 2008.11.25 - Day ? : At our first port, Belize, we went cave tubing and while floating along the river this limestone cave came in view. I am using our Canon P&S in an underwater case. You can see a droplet was in front of the lens at the time. More photos from the trip here.

Oliver Chong > 2008.10.19 - Day ? : I just got set up in time to take this shot from Jen and Phillipe's in Lowell. If you remember, earlier this year I took a picture from the same location, but while the sun was still in the sky. I wish the branches in front of the water weren't there, but there's not much I can do about that.
Oliver Chong > 2008.10.18 - Day ? : I've tried to take this shot previously, but I lacked two things at that time: control over my lighting and a lens that could get close enough. The rose is one of a dozen I gave Irene on our anniversary earlier this week. Uncropped, unadjusted, and unedited beyond removing a dust spot.
Oliver Chong > 2008.10.17 - Day ? : Unfortunately, our bonsai have fungus gnats. It's probably party my fault for watering too frequently, but after moving the plants inside I thought they were dropping leaves from being too dry. In actuality it was probably they experienced too much cold outside before moving in. Yesterday at the grocery store I saw they had Venus Flytraps so I purchased one in hopes that it will snack on some of the gnats. A simpler solution would probably be just to buy one of those sticky fly strips, but it's not nearly as interesting of a solution. Within 10 minutes of putting the Venus Flytrap between the plants I saw it snatch a gnat. There is hope... This is a 15 shot macro focus stack.
